Prior to her current role, she served as a senior research analyst for Nuveen’s municipal fixed income team, responsible for conducting credit analysis and providing trade recommendations for separately managed accounts. Previously, she worked as a research associate at Nuveen in the wealth management services area, where she provided research and developed reports on various topics involving retirement, tax and investment planning. Before joining the firm, she was a financial advisor at Ameriprise Financial.Kristen graduated with a B.S. in Business from Miami University in Ohio. She holds the CFA designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago. Kristen is also a past president of the Chicago Municipal Analysts Society and a former board member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.

Prior to his current position, he served as a research analyst covering the corporate-backed, energy, transportation and utilities sectors. Before joining the firm in 2000, he worked as an analyst at Banc of America Securities specializing in originating and structuring asset-backed securities. Dan received a BS in business from Miami University in Ohio and an MBA at the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Prior to joining First Trust Advisors L.P., Mr. Futrell held various positions in portfolio management and research. Mr. Futrell earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter designation in 1989. The CFA charter is a globally respected, graduate-level investment credential established in 1962 and awarded by CFA Institute — the largest global association of investment professionals. The CFA Program curriculum provides a comprehensive framework of knowledge for investment decision making and is firmly grounded in the knowledge and skills used every day in the investment profession. The three levels of the CFA Program test a proficiency with a wide range of fundamental and advanced investment topics, including ethical and professional standards, fixed-income and equity analysis, alternative and derivative investments, economics, financial reporting standards, portfolio management, and wealth planning.

Davern is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of both the National Association of Municipal Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research.

Prior to Apex, Jan was a portfolio manager and sat on the Investment Committee at Dean Investment Associates from 1999 – 2000. Before Dean, he was Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Chief Market Strategist for Flagship Financial from 1992 – 1999. Flagship was purchased by John Nuveen & Co., for whom he managed several top-rated mutual funds. Prior to Flagship Jan was with Todd Investment Advisors from 1989 – 1991 and Union Central Life Insurance from 1985 – 1989. Jan has been quoted on MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Kipplinger’s and other financial publications. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Economics From the University of Cincinnati. He also graduated Summa Cum Laude with an MBA from Xavier University.
