本基金藉着最少將其三分之二的非現金資產總額投資於在巴西、俄羅斯、印度及中國（包括香港特別行政區）（「新興四國」）設有其註冊辦事處及在此等新興四國的主要證券交易所或其他受監管市場正式上市的公司的股票及等同股票的證券，以及在此等國家有主要業務的公司或大部分商業活動在此等國家進行的公司的股票及等同股票的證券。本基金會策略性地在各新興四國間進行分配及投資顧問可在認為合適時在新興四國間提高或減低分配。在每一新興四國內，本基金會尋求超越指數的總回報表現。選擇指數時會考慮的因素主要包括指數的可用性及透明度、指數中成份證劵的流動性及指數對其各自市場的代表性。按有關指數的總比重計，規模較大的公司的股票通常在該等指數中佔重要地位。本基金可以背對背式信貸通過高信貸評級的機構購買當地貨幣。本基金亦可投資於金融衍生工具，例如期貨、股票掉期、期權及遠期貨幣合約，以及其他貨幣及股票衍生工具。本基金擬將該等金融衍生工具用作（當中包括）管理市場風險（最高達本基金資產淨值的110%）及貨幣持倉，但亦在投資顧問相信投資於金融衍生工具將有助本基金達致其投資目標時用作提高回報。使用金融衍生工具有關的整體風險不得超過本基金的資產淨值總額。金融衍生工具有關的整體風險將使用風險價值法（Value-at-Risk）計算。
